After the great edition in Rhône-Alpes in 2023 and the success of the 2025 edition in Vaucluse, we will be in the East this year.
The 2026 Running edition will take place in Franche-Comté in Besançon. It is a pleasure for me to introduce you to the region in which I grew up. The exceptional setting of Besançon, its old town, its citadel and the hills that surround it will be a perfect backdrop for our World Running Championship.
My decision to choose Besançon in 2026 was reinforced by the quality of the team that will be in charge. Patrice Hennequin, president of For Trail and president of the Besançon Tourist Office, will do everything possible to ensure that this edition is a real success. ForTrail a tracé de magnifiques parcours dans les zones boisées avec des panoramas à couper le souffle. ForTrail has created magnificent trails in wooded areas with breathtaking views. I won’t tell you any more and encourage you to discover Besançon on the Besançon website. Fellow athletes, I therefore invite you to join me on September 25th and 26th, 2026 in Besançon.
